Cast members of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds took the stage at CCXP Mexico, where they confirmed a July 23 premiere and debuted the first teaser for season four on Paramount+.
Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Celia Rose Gooding, and Paul Wesley led the panel across the convention’s main stages, previewing elements of the upcoming season, including a horror-themed episode, the introduction of dinosaurs, and a more intense arc for James T. Kirk that explores the character’s past.
Romijn also pointed to a shift for Una Chin-Riley, with the character taking on a more active leadership role in away missions, while Gooding described Uhura as growing more confident and willing to challenge command. Peck added that the series continues to track Spock’s emotional development, moving him closer to the more controlled version seen later in Star Trek: The Original Series.
Set before the events of The Original Series, Strange New Worlds revisits familiar characters while expanding the early history of the Enterprise. The series has focused on mission-based storytelling, with each episode centered on a different encounter, tone, or conflict, reflecting the structure that defined earlier Star Trek shows.
The returning ensemble includes Anson Mount, Romijn, and Peck, alongside Gooding, Jess Bush, Christina Chong, Melissa Navia, Babs Olusanmokun, and Martin Quinn, with Carol Kane and Wesley also set to appear.
Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers continue as co-showrunners, with Alex Kurtzman among the executive producers. The series is produced by CBS Studios, Secret Hideout, and Roddenberry Entertainment.
The fourth season will span across 10 episodes, continuing to follow Captain Christopher Pike and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise as they take on new missions across space, balancing larger set pieces with more character-focused stories. It arrives as the series moves toward its planned conclusion, with a fifth and final season expected to complete Pike’s run aboard the Enterprise and bridge the timeline into Star Trek: The Original Series, where the story continues under Captain James T. Kirk.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds returns July 23 on Paramount+, with new episodes scheduled weekly through September 24.
