Justin Bieber has offered an early look at what fans might expect from his upcoming Coachella appearance, sharing footage from a recent invite-only show in Los Angeles that marked his first full U.S. concert in several years.
The performance took place at The Roxy Theatre over the weekend, where Bieber played a closed-door set under a strict no-phones policy. On Tuesday, he posted a short montage from the show on social media, describing it as “a little sneak preview” of what he plans to bring to the Coachella stage.
The footage shows Bieber performing in an intimate club setting, moving through a series of songs from his recent catalog while interacting with the audience. At one point, he thanks attendees and frames the performance as a test run ahead of the larger festival set.
The concert itself was structured more like a rehearsal than a traditional comeback show. According to setlist reports, Bieber performed roughly 25 songs across multiple segments, including two full sets separated by a shorter acoustic section. Notably, the entire setlist focused on material from his 2025 releases, Swag and Swag II, rather than drawing from earlier hits that defined much of his career.
That decision has led to speculation about the direction of his Coachella performance. If the festival set follows a similar structure, it would mark a shift away from legacy tracks such as “Baby” or “Peaches” in favor of newer material. While artists often balance past and present in major festival appearances, Bieber’s preview suggests a more current-focused approach.
The Roxy show also highlighted the physical and stylistic elements of his performance. In the shared footage, Bieber appears in casual stagewear, including a pink beanie and a graphic T-shirt, and at times performs shirtless, emphasizing a stripped-down, less formal presentation compared to arena tours.
The acoustic portion of the set included more subdued tracks, offering a contrast to the higher-energy segments. Songs performed during that section reportedly included “Mother in You,” “Things You Do,” and “Dotted Line,” indicating an effort to vary the pacing and tone of the overall performance.
Bieber’s upcoming Coachella appearance carries additional weight given his relative absence from full-scale live performances in recent years. His last extended tour, the Justice World Tour, ended in 2022, after which he largely stepped back from touring. Since then, his appearances have been limited to occasional private events and brief televised performances, including a recent return at the Grammy Awards.
Coachella will mark his first major festival set in several years and his most visible return to a large live audience.
