Woman Arrested After Shots Fired at Rihanna’s Los Angeles Home
A woman was arrested Sunday after allegedly firing multiple shots toward the Los Angeles–area home of Rihanna, authorities said. The singer was reportedly inside the residence at the time of the incident, though no injuries were reported.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire around 1:21 p.m. in the Beverly Hills Post Office neighborhood, an area on the border of Los Angeles and Beverly Hills where several celebrities maintain residences. A 30-year-old woman was taken into custody shortly afterward.
Law enforcement officials identified the suspect as Ivanna Ortiz, a 35-year-old woman from Florida. Authorities said she allegedly fired several rounds toward the property from a vehicle parked across the street from the home. A bullet reportedly struck part of the residence’s outer structure. Police later confirmed that the suspect is being held on bail set at $10.2 million.
Investigators said the woman fired the shots from inside a white Tesla parked near the gate of the property. Radio dispatch records indicated that at least ten shots were fired before the vehicle left the area, traveling south on Coldwater Canyon Drive.
Officers quickly began searching for the vehicle, relaying identifying details over the police radio. A helicopter unit later located the car in Sherman Oaks, roughly a half hour after the initial emergency call. The suspect was taken into custody in the parking lot of a shopping center.
During a search of the vehicle, police said they recovered an AR-15–style rifle along with multiple spent shell casings. Authorities also located bullet damage at the scene, including holes in a gate on the property and damage to an RV parked in the driveway.
Police have not announced a motive for the shooting and said the investigation remains ongoing. It was not immediately clear whether the suspect had any known connection to the singer.
Rihanna, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, reportedly lives at the property with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky. The couple shares three children together: sons RZA and Riot, born in 2022 and 2023 respectively, and a daughter born earlier this year.
The shooting marks the latest in a series of security incidents involving the singer’s homes. In 2018, a man was arrested after breaking into one of Rihanna’s Los Angeles residences and remaining inside for approximately 12 hours before being discovered by an assistant. The intruder later pleaded no contest to stalking charges.
Authorities have not indicated whether additional security measures will be taken following Sunday’s incident, but investigators said the case is still under review. Rihanna was not harmed during the shooting, and no other injuries were reported.
