Will Ferrell Accepts Titan of Culture Award With Pride-Themed Speech at Las Culturistas Awards
Will Ferrell accepted the Titan of Culture award at the 2026 Las Culturistas Culture Awards and used his acceptance speech to deliver a series of jokes tied to Pride Month, including a surprise reveal of black leather harness straps hidden beneath his suit.
The actor was honored by Las Culturistas hosts Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers during the ceremony, which aired on Wednesday on Bravo and Peacock after being recorded in Los Angeles on May 30. Introducing Ferrell, Yang described the Titan of Culture award as recognition for someone whose impact on entertainment has remained strong over decades. Rogers and Yang praised Ferrell’s influence on comedy before bringing him to the stage.
Ferrell began his speech by offering what he described as advice for anyone hoping to become a “Titan of Culture.” The actor then launched into a bit about the different things he takes pride in, mentioning his work as an actor and filmmaker as well as his family life. He followed that by joking that he was proud to be straight.
As the speech continued, Ferrell shifted his attention to Pride Month, telling the crowd to “be happy, be joyful, be... gay” before declaring that June should officially be recognized as Pride Month. He then pulled out a rainbow flag and revealed what he claimed was a personalized version representing various milestones from his own career.
According to Ferrell, each color symbolized something different, including Talladega Nights, Saturday Night LiveStranger Than FictionA Night at the Roxbury, and what he jokingly described as “how much money I made, which is a lot.”
The biggest visual gag came near the end of the speech when Ferrell opened his jacket to reveal black leather harness straps underneath. Referring to the outfit as a safety measure, he ended the bit by telling the audience to “strap up.”
The moment fit neatly into the tone of the Las Culturistas Culture Awards, an event created by Yang and Rogers to celebrate pop culture through a mix of genuine honors, celebrity appearances, and comedy. The annual ceremony features more than 100 categories recognizing memorable moments across entertainment, music, television, and internet culture.
This year’s edition included appearances from numerous actors, musicians, and comedians, but Ferrell’s acceptance speech quickly became one of the night’s most talked-about moments. The actor, whose career spans more than three decades across film, television, and Saturday Night Live, accepted the award while turning the tribute into a comedy routine filled with references to Pride Month, his filmography, and his famously commitment-heavy style of humor.
The 2026 Las Culturistas Culture Awards is now available to stream on Peacock.
