Pink spent New Year’s Eve away from celebrations this year, opting instead to undergo neck surgery as she closes out 2025 and looks ahead to the next phase of her career and personal health.

In a post shared on Instagram late Tuesday, the singer revealed that she spent the holiday in a hospital room while her family was snowboarding, explaining that the procedure was part of a broader effort to prioritize her physical well-being after decades of physically demanding performances: “I end the year giving reverence to, paying attention to, and fixing my body,” Pink wrote.

She did not specify the exact nature of the surgery but indicated it involved the replacement of two discs in her neck. Based on her description and the placement of a visible bandage in the photo accompanying the post, the procedure appears consistent with cervical disc replacement, a surgery often performed through the front of the neck.

Pink, known for her acrobatic live shows and aerial stunts, acknowledged the toll that years of touring and high-impact performances can take. “Rock ’n’ roll is a contact sport,” she wrote, suggesting that the wear and tear of her career contributed to the need for surgical intervention.

While the singer framed the moment in reflective terms, referencing the transition from the Year of the Wood Snake to the upcoming Year of the Horse in the Chinese zodiac, her message focused largely on recovery, resilience, and the privilege of having access to medical care. Pink noted that although she is choosing to enter 2026 with optimism, she recognizes that not everyone has the same freedom or resources to make similar choices about their health.

“As I sit here by myself on New Year’s Eve in a hospital room… I know that 2026 is going to be better because that is the choice that I have made,” she wrote, adding that she hopes to spend the coming year supporting others’ ability to make decisions for themselves and their families.

The post also served as a personal reckoning with what she described as a difficult year — one that spanned moments of loss, frustration, and joy. Pink reflected on time spent with her children and the importance of showing them that life should be approached with curiosity and courage, even amid uncertainty.

Despite the surgical recovery ahead, Pink struck a forward-looking tone. She wrote about recommitting to self-care, choosing optimism over cynicism, and continuing to create and perform with intention. While she did not offer updates on touring plans or future projects, her comments suggest that recovery is being treated as a necessary pause rather than a retreat.

Pink concluded her message with a nod to renewal, describing the new year as an opportunity to shed what no longer serves and move forward with renewed strength.
