Offset has been released from the hospital after sustaining injuries in a shooting outside a South Florida casino earlier this week, according to a statement from his representatives. The incident, which occurred near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, left the rapper hospitalized with what authorities described as non-life-threatening wounds.

A spokesperson confirmed that the 34-year-old artist, born Kiari Cephus, is now “up and walking” and continuing his recovery outside the hospital. The update came days after the shooting prompted widespread concern among fans and fellow artists, particularly given the history of violence surrounding members of his former group, Migos.

Offset addressed the incident directly in a handwritten message shared to social media, offering a brief but reflective update on his condition and mindset. “I’m good… but I’m planning to be better,” he wrote, thanking supporters for their messages in the days following the shooting.

He added that his immediate priorities are centered on his personal life and professional future. “I’m focused on my family, my recovery, and getting back to the music,” he said. The note also included a broader reflection on risk and resilience: “Realizing that life is made up of quiet wins and loud losses… Life’s a gamble and I’m still playing to win.”

The tone of the statement suggests a measured attempt to reframe the incident, emphasizing recovery and continuity rather than escalation.

Law enforcement officials have not publicly identified a suspect in the shooting, and no charges directly related to the gunfire have been announced. The Seminole Police Department confirmed that the investigation remains active.

However, Lil Tjay, born Tione Jayden Merritt, was detained at the scene shortly after the incident and later charged with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor under Florida law. He was released from custody the same day, according to records from the Broward County Sheriff's Office.

Merritt’s legal team has strongly rejected speculation linking him more directly to the shooting. His attorney, Dawn M. Florio, described circulating claims as “false” and urged the public to rely on verified reporting. Authorities have not indicated that Merritt faces any weapons-related charges at this time.

The situation has drawn additional attention due to a prior public dispute between Offset and Merritt. In early 2025, Merritt accused Offset during an Instagram Live session of owing him money related to gambling losses, claims that circulated widely online at the time.

While investigators have not confirmed any connection between those earlier remarks and the recent shooting, the history has fueled speculation across social media. Officials have not commented on whether personal disputes are being considered as part of the inquiry.

Despite the incident, Offset appears to be resuming professional activity. Shortly after his release from the hospital, he shared a preview of new music online, signaling a return to work even as his recovery continues.

His representatives also issued a statement expressing gratitude toward the medical staff who treated him following the shooting. “We’re incredibly grateful to the doctors, nurses, and the entire hospital staff who took such great care of him,” the spokesperson said.

The rapper’s recovery comes against the backdrop of ongoing conversations about violence in the hip-hop industry. In 2022, Offset’s cousin and fellow Migos member Takeoff was killed in a separate shooting, an event that had a lasting impact on the group and its members.
