The team behind Prime Video’s breakout romance series Off Campus is calling for respect within its fan community as production moves forward on the show’s highly anticipated second season.

In a statement shared across the series’ official social media channels on Thursday, the creative team addressed what appears to be growing online hostility directed at cast members and people connected to the production. While the message did not reference any specific incidents, it made clear that harassment targeting actors or individuals in their personal lives will not be tolerated.

“The Off Campus community is built on a shared love of storytelling and on respect for the real people who bring it to life,” the statement read. “We ask that everyone in this space extend that respect to our cast and the people in their lives.”

The post concluded with a direct warning to users engaging in abusive behavior online, stating that accounts participating in targeted harassment would be removed from following the show’s official social media accounts.

The statement arrives just weeks after Prime Video officially renewed Off Campus for a second season, further cementing the adaptation as one of the streaming platform’s most successful recent launches. Based on the bestselling novel series by author Elle Kennedy, the show has developed a passionate fan base since debuting earlier this year, helping transform the popular book franchise into a major television success.

Adapted from Kennedy’s 2015 novel The Deal, Off Campus follows the romantic lives of college hockey players attending the fictional Briar University and the women who become central figures in their lives. Combining sports drama, romance, and coming-of-age storytelling, the series quickly attracted viewers both from Kennedy’s existing readership and audiences discovering the story for the first time through the television adaptation.

Season One primarily focused on the relationship between Briar University hockey captain Garrett Graham, portrayed by Belmont Cameli, and music student Hannah Wells, played by Ella Bright. Their story began with a mutually beneficial fake-dating arrangement that gradually evolved into a genuine romance, becoming the emotional centerpiece of the show's debut season.

With Garrett and Hannah’s story now established, the upcoming second installment will shift its focus to another fan-favorite couple from Kennedy’s novels. Season Two is set to center on Allie Hayes, portrayed by Mika Abdalla, and Dean Di Laurentis, played by Stephen Kalyn, whose relationship began developing during the first season.

Showrunner Louisa Levy previously confirmed the creative direction for the next chapter while emphasizing that viewers will continue to see familiar faces alongside the new central romance.

“We are so excited to continue Allie and Dean’s story as our primary romance of Season Two after kickstarting their romance in Season One,” Levy said in a statement announcing the renewal. “But if you fell in love with Hannah and Garrett, don’t worry, they will still be an integral part of our robust ensemble.”

The decision to spotlight a different couple each season mirrors the structure of Kennedy’s original book series, which dedicates individual novels to different characters while maintaining an interconnected friend group and shared university setting. The format has allowed readers to become invested in multiple characters across the broader Off Campus universe and provides the television adaptation with a roadmap for future seasons.

The show's popularity has already exceeded many industry expectations. According to figures previously reported by Variety, Off Campus ranks as Prime Video’s third most-watched debut series, outperforming the initial launches of several established streaming hits, including The Summer I Turned PrettyWe Were LiarsReacher, and The Boys. The strong performance has helped position the series as one of the platform’s fastest-growing young adult franchises and a significant success within the increasingly competitive romance television landscape.
