The possibility of a new tour from Madonna remains unclear, according to her longtime manager Guy Oseary, following the singer’s high-profile return to the Coachella stage and the announcement of her upcoming album Confessions on a Dance Floor: Part II.

Speaking at the Breakthrough Prize Ceremony in Santa Monica, Oseary said he could not confirm whether Madonna will return to touring. “I’m not sure yet,” he said when asked directly about the prospect. Pressed further on whether he would like to see her back on the road, Oseary emphasized a more personal perspective: “I want to see her happy, so whatever makes her happy, I’m all there.”

The comments come amid renewed momentum around Madonna’s career, sparked by her surprise appearance during Sabrina Carpenter’s headlining set at Coachella. The two artists performed a series of songs together, including “Vogue” and “Like a Prayer,” along with a duet believed to preview material from the forthcoming album. The collaboration, according to Oseary, was initiated by the artists themselves.

“Madonna told me that she and Sabrina talked about it,” he said. “It was not my idea. It was a brilliant idea.” He added that the performance reflected a shared sense of connection and celebration, describing the moment as “really special” and emotionally significant.

Madonna’s appearance also marked a symbolic milestone. She first performed at Coachella in 2006, taking the stage in the festival’s Dance Tent during the rollout of Confessions on a Dance Floor. Returning two decades later, she referenced that history directly, calling the moment “full circle” as she addressed the crowd. For the performance, she wore a lavender corset and boots reminiscent of her earlier era, reinforcing the visual and thematic link between past and present.

The renewed attention around Madonna coincides with the rollout of Confessions on a Dance Floor: Part II, scheduled for release on July 3. The project serves as a sequel to her 2005 album and arrives after months of speculation fueled by social media teasers. Earlier this week, Madonna cleared her Instagram feed and updated her bio to reference lyrics from “Hung Up,” the lead single from the original record. She has since released a new track, “I Feel So Free,” offering the first glimpse into the upcoming album’s direction.

Despite the surge in activity, Oseary declined to comment on other aspects of Madonna’s current slate, including her reported involvement in a new season of The Studio alongside Julia Garner, as well as ongoing discussions surrounding a biographical film or limited series. “I’ll let Madonna speak on it,” he said.

Madonna’s recent Celebration Tour marked a major return to live performance and was widely seen as a retrospective of her four-decade career. Whether she will embark on another global run tied to her new material is yet to be determined.

What is clear is that Madonna’s Coachella appearance has reignited interest among fans, many of whom are now waiting to see if the next chapter of her career will include a return to the stage on a larger scale.
