Kevin Spacey has reached out-of-court settlements in three civil sexual assault cases in London, bringing an end to legal proceedings that had been scheduled to go to trial later this year. The cases, which involved allegations spanning more than a decade, were set to be heard in the U.K. High Court this fall but have now been formally halted following the agreements.

According to the BBC, the claims centered on alleged incidents that took place between 2000 and 2013, during a period that overlaps with Spacey’s tenure as artistic director of London’s Old Vic theatre. The actor had denied all allegations in the cases before the settlements, and no admission of liability has been made public as part of the agreements.

One of the accusers, identified in court filings under the pseudonym “LNP”, alleged that Spacey had sexually assaulted him multiple times over five years beginning in 2000. The claimant described a pattern of repeated misconduct, alleging that the incidents occurred on approximately a dozen occasions.

A second individual, referred to as “GHI”, claimed he suffered both psychological harm and financial losses following an alleged assault in 2008. According to the complaint, the two met during a workshop connected to the Old Vic, where Spacey served as artistic director from 2004 to 2013. The accuser argued that the alleged incident had long-term personal and professional consequences.

The third claimant, actor Ruari Cannon, chose to proceed publicly rather than anonymously. Cannon alleged that Spacey groped him at a party in 2013, after Cannon had appeared in a stage production at the Old Vic. Spacey has previously denied this allegation, describing it as “utter nonsense.”

Cannon had already reached a separate settlement with the Old Vic theatre before the resolution of the case involving Spacey, according to statements made by his legal representatives during recent court proceedings.

Lawyers representing the three claimants had indicated they were prepared to call multiple additional witnesses at trial. They suggested that as many as seven individuals with similar allegations could have testified, potentially expanding the scope and visibility of the proceedings had they moved forward.

The settlements mark another development in a series of legal challenges Spacey has faced in recent years. In 2023, he was acquitted of criminal sexual assault charges in the United Kingdom after a jury found him not guilty on all counts. Following the verdict, Spacey stated that he was “humbled” by the outcome.

More recently, the actor appeared in court in connection with a separate civil matter tied to the production of the Netflix series House of Cards, in which he previously starred. That case involves a dispute between the show’s producers and an insurance company over financial losses following the suspension of production in 2017. During testimony in that proceeding, Spacey said he had been diagnosed with compulsive sexual behavior that same year after undergoing treatment.
