Among the most anticipated anniversary items is a new limited-edition library card honoring Reasonable Doubt, which will be distributed beginning June 25, exactly 30 years after the album's original release. The commemorative card will be available at Brooklyn Public Library branches on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
The initiative marks the second major collaboration between Jay-Z and the Brooklyn Public Library in recent years. In 2023, the institution hosted the highly successful Book of HOV exhibition at its Grand Army Plaza location, an expansive retrospective that explored the rapper's life, music, business ventures, and cultural impact. That exhibit drew hundreds of thousands of visitors and featured a series of collectible library cards inspired by each of Jay-Z's 13 solo studio albums.
This year's partnership places a specific focus on Reasonable Doubt, the 1996 debut that transformed Shawn Carter from a rising Brooklyn entrepreneur into one of hip-hop's most respected voices. The second night will shift focus to The Blueprint, another landmark release that is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
